A long time ago, in a little town called Bethlehem, something truly extraordinary happened—God became a baby! Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Savior of the world, was born in a humble stable, surrounded by animals and hay. His mother, Mary, and His earthly father, Joseph, looked upon Him with love, knowing that He was the long-awaited King. Angels filled the sky, singing songs of joy, and nearby shepherds, keeping watch over their flocks, received a special message: “Do not be afraid! I bring you good news of great joy! A Savior has been born!” (Luke 2:10-11). Far away in the East, wise men saw a bright star guiding them to this special child, bringing gifts fit for a king—gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The world would never be the same again!
Jesus grew up in the small village of Nazareth, where He played, learned, and helped Joseph in the carpenter’s workshop. But even as a child, He amazed people with His wisdom. At just twelve years old, He was found in the great Temple in Jerusalem, talking with the teachers about God. When Mary and Joseph found Him, He simply said, “Did you not know that I must be in My Father’s house?” (Luke 2:49). Even then, He knew He was on a special mission!
Years passed, and when Jesus turned thirty, something incredible happened. He went to the Jordan River, where His cousin John the Baptist was calling people to repent and prepare for the coming of the Lord. When Jesus stepped into the river, the heavens opened, and the voice of God spoke: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17) At that moment, the Holy Spirit, like a dove, rested on Him—His great mission had begun!
Jesus traveled from town to town, teaching, healing the sick, and performing amazing miracles! Imagine seeing blind people open their eyes and see for the first time, lame people jump and dance with joy, and storms obey His command to be still! He turned water into wine at a wedding in Cana, fed thousands with just a few loaves and fish, and even walked on water! Everywhere He went, crowds gathered to hear Him speak, for He taught with love, wisdom, and power. He told parables—stories with special meanings—like the Good Samaritan, who showed kindness to a stranger, and the Prodigal Son, who was welcomed home by his father with open arms, just like God welcomes us.
But not everyone was happy with Jesus. Some religious leaders were jealous and plotted to stop Him. Yet, Jesus did not stop loving, healing, or teaching. He gathered twelve special friends, His apostles, and gave them an important mission—to spread the Good News of God’s love to the whole world! He told them, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6).
Then came the most important week in history—Holy Week. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, as the people cheered, waving palm branches and shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Matthew 21:9). But soon, things took a sad turn. One of His own apostles, Judas, betrayed Him for thirty pieces of silver. Jesus was arrested and taken before Pontius Pilate, who sentenced Him to death on a cross. He was beaten, mocked, and forced to carry His heavy cross up a hill called Calvary. There, with love beyond imagination, Jesus gave His life for us. With His final breath, He said, ‘It is finished.’ (John 19:30).
But the story does not end there! Three days later, something miraculous happened—Jesus rose from the dead! When Mary Magdalene went to His tomb, she found it empty! An angel said, “He is not here, for He has risen!” (Matthew 28:6). Jesus appeared to His apostles, showing them His wounds and proving that He had conquered death! For forty days, He walked among them, teaching and preparing them to continue His mission. Then, standing on a mountaintop, He lifted His hands and ascended into Heaven, promising, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20).
And so, the greatest story ever told continues in our hearts today! Jesus calls us to follow Him, to love one another, and to share His message of hope, joy, and salvation. One day, He will come again in glory, and all who believe in Him will live with Him forever! Let’s rejoice, for Christ is alive!
Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again!
